WHAT IS AN INSULATION R-VALUE ?

An Insulation product’s resistance to heat flow is measured by its thermal R-value. The higher the R-value, the more effective the products heat flow resistance is.  Insulation R-value is graded on a number of factors including thickness, density and what the insulation is made of. Regardless of Brand or Material if a product has the same R-value it will achieve the same results when installed to your desired application correctly. When it comes to choosing the right installation for your home, it is not the thickness of the product or the type of material that counts, but the R-value.
